Common questions about Direct Primary Care.
What is Direct Primary Care?
Direct Primary Care, also called DPC, is a membership-based primary care model where patients pay the practice directly for ongoing primary care services instead of billing insurance for each visit.
Do you take insurance?
No. The Gold Standard Health does not accept or bill health insurance for primary care membership. This allows us to keep the relationship directly between the patient and physician.
Is Direct Primary Care insurance?
No. DPC is not insurance. We recommend patients maintain insurance or another coverage option for services outside primary care, such as emergency care, hospitalization, surgery, imaging, or specialists.
Can I still use my insurance elsewhere?
Yes. Your insurance can still be used outside of The Gold Standard Health according to your plan. Some HMO-style plans may require an in-network primary care doctor, so it is best to check with your insurer.
Do you see children?
Yes. The Gold Standard Health offers pediatric primary care services, including well-child exams, acute illness visits, and school, camp, and sports physicals.
Can Medicare or Medicaid patients join?
The Gold Standard Health is not currently able to serve people who are enrolled with Medicare and/or Medicaid. Contact the practice to be placed on the waitlist.
What should I do in a medical emergency?
Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department for life-threatening symptoms or emergencies. Direct Primary Care is not a replacement for emergency medical care.
